Tuition: $1,795.00
Location: Overton, Nevada
Instructor: Joseph Rossbach
Overview:
The Valley of Fire is a unique state park hidden away only 1-hour from Las Vegas. The rocky desert landscape burns a fiery red when lit by the sun. Over time, these red rock formations have created arches, slot canyons and colorful variations that provide endless photo opportunities, both in the grand landscape and intimate details. With focus on creativity and learning, this workshop will help you to refine your eye and help you create a strong portfolio of some of the southwest's most interesting rock formations.

Schedule:
We will kick the workshop of starting at 12pm with an introductory classroom session on shooting in the park with a focus on creative and technical techniques for the best images. After class we head out into the park to photograph until sunset.
On day's two and three, we will be in the park from sunrise till the light is no longer productive. We will have a classroom session each of these days focusing on post image development and critiques. In the afternoon, after class, we will be back in the park shooting a variety of locations until sunset.
On day four, we will have a final sunrise field session followed by a goodbye breakfast in Overton before checking out of the hotel.

Physical Difficulty:
There will be no strenuous hiking involved during the workshop and most locations will be close to the road. Some locations, however may involve a short hike of no more than 1 mile with no serious elevation gains. We will be spending a lot of time shooting on rocky terrain and in sand. The terrain there is very uneven and can be somewhat slippery. Hiking boots and a modest level of health and fitness will greatly enhance your experience.
