Acadia National Park in Maine quite possibly could be the crown jewel of the east coast. The park features miles of undeveloped rocky coast, towering granite summits with awe inspiring views, myriad lakes and ponds and countless opportunities to photograph intimate forest scenes and quiet harbors. It’s also arguably the northeast’s best fall foliage hot spot.

Includes

5 days of intensive photography instruction in the field and classroom, image lectures. image critiques, post processing training in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop & a custom printed 12x18” Fine Art Print of your chosen image from the workshop.

Does Not Include

Airfare, transportation, lodging & meals. We have secured a discounted room rate at a hotel in Bar Harbor for participants (this is also where we will be conducting classroom sessions). Car pool ride sharing is encouraged for traveling to shooting locations.

VISION & FOCUS

Joseph will focus on learning to “see” the landscape in new ways; unlocking creativity in situations that require conceptual and compositional ingenuity. In addition to composition and creative vision, they will discuss the best use of light and subject matter to create a memorable and remarkable images. During classroom sessions we will focus on creative and technical skills to help unlock vision & creativity. Image critiques will allow you to get feedback on your work throughout the week ensuring that you hone your skills and continue to push your personal and creative boundaries. Classroom editing sessions will cover Joe’s unique and creative approach to image development. In addition, you will leave the workshop with a gorgeous fine art print of your own made on professional fine art paper and printed with the top of the line ink jet printer.

Itinerary

Friday, October 8
Meet & Greet starting at 5pm at the hotel followed by classroom lectures on Composition/Use of Light & shooting locations.

Saturday, October 9
Sunrise & morning field session followed by breakfast break. 1pm class session with lectures on shooting techniques including compositions, best practices, use of filters, creative exposure and more. Late afternoon/sunset field session.

Sunday, October 10
Sunrise & morning field session followed by breakfast break. 1pm class session with lecture on shooting intimate images & waterfalls. Late afternoon/sunset field session.

Monday, October 11
Sunrise & morning field session followed by breakfast break. 1pm class session on editing images in Adobe Lightroom & image critique session. Late afternoon/sunset field session.

Tuesday, October 12
Sunrise/morning field session. Workshop concludes at 10am.

PHYSICAL DIFFICULTY

There won’t be any long hikes on this workshop, but when shooting along the coast you will be walking over uneven granite ledges near the breaking waves. Most other location will only involve short walks to access locations for shooting.
