Much more than waterfalls, this one day workshop will cover the four most unique features of the West Virginia Highlands: a sunrise at Dolly Sods looking at across a vast expanse of rolling mountain tops, two of the best waterfalls in the state, Elekala Falls and Douglas Falls, and a sunset from Lindy Point looking down Blackwater Canyon. In addition to photographing all these gems, we will have a two hour classroom session covering the fundamentals of image processing in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.

Date: June 15th, 2019

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Canaan Valley Resort and Conference Center where we will be meeting two hours before sunrise to carpool up to Dolly Sods Bear Rocks to start of with our sunrise shoot. After the light has given us our best shots there, we will head straight down to Douglas Falls, spending at least an hour shooting this amazing waterfall. We will then be heading back to the Lodge for a lunch followed by a classroom session (approx. 2 hours) at the lodge. After class, we are back in the field to photograph Elakala Falls for a couple hours before heading to the trailhead for Lindy Point and make the easy 15 minute walk out to this amazing vista for sunset. The workshop will conclude after the sunset session.

Physical Difficulty: Easy walks, but some scrambling over rocky terrain.
