The class is broken down into three sections, Capture ~ Process ~ Print. Joe will cover all three of these essential aspects of photography and share with you his philosophies and techniques for capturing amazing images, processing them to perfection and his printing techniques.
Session One (10am-12pm): Capture: In this two hour lecture Joe will be sharing many landscape images and discussing the behind the image details, where, why and how. Each image represents some challenges for the photographer and how to overcome the technical aspects of capturing them. Joe will also be discussing use of light, composition and creating personal style in your own work.
Session Two (1pm-3pm): Process: Next we will take a deep dive into Joe's development in both Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop. Joe will be discussing how to properly set white balance, apply profiles, maximize dynamic range, enhance fine details, color grade images, add and enhance saturation and color in a natural yet dramatic fashion, use masking and local adjustments to balance tone and color and set contrast values.
We will after about an hour of instruction in Lightroom move into Photoshop where Joe will share some of his favorite techniques for polishing the image to perfection including dodging & burning, clarity and dehaze adjustments, enhancing dramatic skies, painting with color and more.
Session three (4pm-5pm): Print: In this one hour session Joe will discuss all the aspects of setting up images for prints including selecting a printer, papers, ICC profiles, soft proofing, image sharpening, and settings for the perfect inkjet print.
