Twilight Over the Blue Valley

San Rafeal Swell, Utah

The last light of day brushes the sandstone cliffs and badlands of Utah’s remote Blue Valley, casting a golden crown on an otherwise shadowed land. In the distance, the Henry Mountains rise like a fortress from the desert floor, remnants of ancient volcanic forces. This overlook, hidden deep in the badlands, offers one of the most dramatic and surreal desert vistas in the Southwest. Photo © copyright by Joseph Rossbach.
